There really isn't anything you can do to deter wildlife, except being there to scare them away(Although a scarecrow dressed in pink, or blue with deodorant all over it has worked). They aren't afraid of human smells, they just try to avoid humans. Peeing on a rag may attract other unwanted pests, like flies, etc., If you are doing an outdoor grow, than a rabbit wire fence around your plants should help greatly from critters also.
