![]() | The best way I've ever found to clean any dirty glass piece (pipe, bong, doesn't matter) is rubbing alcohol and salt. You have to get a high percentage rubbing alcohol like 90%. 75% does not work as well. If you're cleaning a small pipe its easiest to put it in a ziplock add the alcohol and a fair amount of salt and shake. You will see results in no time. With larger pieces I suggest just pouring in the alcohol and salt and shake over a sink. With dirtier pieces you are going to have to change the mixture multiply times depending on the how dirty it is. I swear every time I've done this my piece looked cleaner then when I got t. For anyone who is wondering this is not harmful to your glassware in anyway shape or form. The reason its better then hot water is because the salt does not dissolve in the rubbing alcohol so it acts as a little scrubber when you shake it. |

Definitely try it. No need for soaking unless you have and intensely dirty piece. Just a good shake. | |

![]() | I'm making an extra note that this method is best only for glass. I'm not positive if it isn't good for acrylic, but I've done it a couple times to two different acrylic bongs and they have cracked and broke... so maybe that's why, but it was right away so I could never tell if it was the alcohol and salt or not. I am 100% positive that is does not hurt glass. |

![]() | Good video Wem. You don't need nearly as much salt for it to work though. I clean a filthy bong and don't use a 1/4 of the salt. I think it much easier to add salt as you change the mixture. He also used a clean bong from I could see. I usually clean a perc bong thats so black you cant see the dome anymore... so I need to change the mixture. I think if you use the same salt every time it does not work as well, but I guess it all depends on how dirty your piece is. I know a lot of people like to just let it sit in rubbing alcohol, which I hear works, but using the salt and giving it a little shake works wonders. |
