Well, for better or for worse, I told my wife about my pot. She reacted a little less badly than I feared, but it didn't go so well. Things aren't too bad it seems, but she just went for a walk... we'll see how things go when she gets back. I might not be on for a little while because of this. You guys can call me an idiot. But she didn't throw anything at me, so that's positive at least...

I really felt bad not including her, but I didn't expect her to react quite so negatively. Her reaction however was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, and after her walk she calmed down quite a bit more.

She was worried about me being an addict, and more about the fact that I was hiding things from her (understandable, and the majority of the reason I wanted to tell her). She went and started looking up info and I steered her to erowid.org where she started reading up on a bunch of things, including the vicodin she does like to take. I think she felt a bit sheepish after a while because she likes to take vicodin and in her mind it wasn't as bad as weed because it's prescribed by a doctor... er, sorta. Heh.

We talked quite a bit tho and things seem stable. I actually think she might even indulge some time in the future. Right now though, I'ma go to bed. Talk to ya later!

Yea , BeccasMuffin vicodin are addicting and can harm a person so it is more dangerous than marijuana. Also if she like vics than shes the addict and you just like to get stoned. If anything she should smoke mj with you and think about how vicodin does more harm then good in the LONG run. When MJ has been medically proven and documented to be safer than most prescription medications out there.

You should not feel ashamed at all to tell her you smoke MJ. Mj is totally safe when done in the right enviroment and not putting your freedom in danger Everything will be fine. But definitly get her to smoke with you whenever she can.

Sorry to report but, I to enjoy vicodin. Sometimes I take a 750mg at work to help me through my day. It acts as a speed to me. Add a beer (not a work) and it's just an awesome high. I used to take them all the time and yes, they are addicting!! Nothing is as sweet as That Bud!! I drink Bud (Budweiser), eat Bud, and smoke bud, maybe someday we could find a way to fuck it!!!

Well, I have an update. Things are good!

Her biggest concerns were that I was an addict, and that I lied to her. The lie issue was much worse than the addict issue, but those were the biggies.

As to the lying, it was a violation of trust in our marriage. After telling her this, I have no other secrets from her. That's also why I told her now rather than waiting. I don't know how bad it would have been if I had waited even a year, and if she had found out on her own, I have some idea of how she might have felt. After our youngest son was born, she insisted that she was going to stay away from cigarettes since she had quit while she was pregnant. 2 or 3 months after he was born, I stumbled across her secret stash of cigarettes, and I wasn't too happy.

As to the addiction, we have had friends who were addicted to various drugs. One of them stole another friend's guns (a .44 and a .22 which were later used in crimes), one sold most of her things (and some things that weren't hers) to buy drugs, and one guy who was just an awesome guy to be around personality wise ended up dying from an overdose. She is also not very knowledgeable about various drugs, and she thought her vicodin was nothing compared to a pot addiction. So I can understand why she was upset about that possibility, and that is why I was hesitant in the first place.

She was also worried about legal problems if we got caught, like losing the kids and being arrested and stuff. But in the end, she calmed down and we talked and I took her to websites (like erowid.org) and we did some research together, and she learned that pot is actually not that bad compared to a lot of other things, including the vicodin she enjoys (watching her reaction to that was interesting).

In her own words though, my telling her was a good thing because we seem to be a bit closer now. I feel that too, mostly because I no longer have anything to hide from her. She does keep trying to see if my pupils are dialated or if she can smell the pot smoke, but I guess that's to be expected so soon after me telling her that I'm smoking pot and hiding it from her.

And the best thing of all... and I quote *ahem* "Well, give me about a week before you ask me again, and then I probably won't take more than one hit, if I do it at all." (paraphrased, but I'm sure you get the point).
